At the first International Leadership Summit on Housing, held July 21, 2012, leaders from UNAIDS, the World Bank and the International AIDS Society pledged concrete steps to place housing security on the global agenda to end AIDS. Over 190 participants from 27 countries attended the Summit, an affiliated independent event of the AIDS 2012 International AIDS Conference, to discuss housing insecurity, poverty and other social drivers of the ongoing HIV pandemic.
