2015 Conference Report

In September 2015, the eighth North American Housing and HIV/AIDS Research Summit – Understanding the Social Drivers of Health and HIV –took place in Washington D.C. A collaboration between the Ontario HIV Treatment Network, the National AIDS Housing Coalition and Johns Hopkins University, the summit brought together international experts on housing, HIV, the social sciences, research, policy and program design.

This was the first year that the Summit extended its mission to include the wider range of social drivers and syndemics that affect health outcomes and quality of life for people with HIV. It marked the growing awareness within research and activist communities that ending the HIV epidemic will require cooperation and shared understanding.
